Nimesulide is a drug used for the management of pain and to treat fever. It is commonly prescribed to acute pain, pain related to menstrual cramps, backache, post-operative pains, osteoarthritis and fever. This drug belongs to the class of NSAID (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug).This medication functions by blocking the cyclooxygenases which actually produces pain signals in our body. Cyclooxygenases and Prostaglandin are the reasons for the occurrence of inflammation, swelling of joints and other acute pains.
